Juicy Lean Turkey Burgers

Depending on where you get them from, turkey burgers can sometimes taste better than regular burgers in my opinion. The problem with turkey burgers is when they are not prepared right, they can be tasteless and dry. Who wants a bland burger?! Nobody!

I don’t think I have ever had a juicier turkey burger that held so perfectly together! The secret, flash frying them to get them crispy, them steaming them. This process hold in all the juices too!

I served them with sweet grilled onions and a bit of ketchup on top. So delish!


  • 1 pack of lean ground turkey
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp. olive oil
  • 1 tbsp of minced ground garlic
  • 1 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 tsp. granulated garlic
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp ground Himalayan pink salt
  • ¼ cup cilantro
  • 1 sweet onion; sliced in rings and used for burger topping or under them
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup low fat mozzarella

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients other thank the cheese and onions
  2. Mix with hands until blended
  3. Once your turkey is well mixed, grab an amount that is slightly smaller than a tennis ball to form a patty with your hands. Patties should be about ¾” thick
  4. Slice the onions into rings and add them to the nonstick pan, on high and let cook for 10 min
  5. Next, add the patties to the pan – on high
  6. Allow patties to cook for approximately 7 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for 7 minutes on the other. The outer portion of your turkey should turn a golden brown
  7. Now, turn the pan to med-low and cover for about 15 minutes to let steam
  8. Make sure the patties are cooked all the way through an add the mozzarella cheese
  9. Cover again for about 5 – 10 minutes

That’s it! I usually add some organic ketchup to the tops and a bit of balsamic glaze. Let me know if you have any questions! 🙂
